From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leaders
Hornet Knitting Mills started with a single circular knitting machine, producing lining for seat cover fabrics, all from a small house at 4 Kirsten Street. With dedication and skill, they expanded by adding two sock machines, drawing from their roots in sock manufacturing. Over time, Hornet evolved from a commission knitter for major mills across the country to an independent powerhouse, supplying high-quality nylon fabrics, commission-dyed and sold directly from their factory shop.
Today, their production has grown to include a circular plant with 20 machines crafting a wide range of fabric qualities — from single jersey and fleece to nylon ribbing. Hornet Knitting Mills has truly woven its way into the heart of the local textile industry.
